More Twitter-ness

Hey everyone, a really quick post here. The twitter enhancements are rolling out slowly, now the server will periodically check to see if there is anyone logged and and posts the count to twitter. Hopefully this helps everyone out!

As always, if you have any input just drop me a line/comment.

Broken Broken Broken

Well, it happened...World of Warcraft did it, and now Minecraft has done it. Cataclysm. There aren't many words to describe the sights, but here are pictures. They say all that needs to be said.

Busy Busy Busy

You guys have been going crazy on the server lately and I think it's awesome! I just wanted to post up a little bit about what has been going on around town.

Server Updates

Beta has been killer the last couple of days for people trying to log in and do anything at all without getting some kind of connection error. It looks like things have been addressed for now and it should be happening much less frequently now. There are still glitches that the Minecraft devs on high are trying to work out, such as this particular one that happened to cut Marstead's house in half (don't worry: everything was fixed by logging out), but for the most part things should be back to normal.

Random Happenings

As I said, there have been all kinds of great things happening on the server and here's a few of them.

Sixgunninja has made some amazing progress with his first project being a road that connects everyone's houses together. He's also the founder of the Secret Bunker Mining Company.

Also hard at work has been newcomer Arways. He's been working hard on getting his house built and has made some tremendous strides already. Here's a preview:

Last but not least I wanted to display Bessel's Plateau and Skybridge. Highlighted by the setting sun, I just couldn't avoid taking this picture. It doesn't highly Bessel's great work as much as I would like, but it is just beautiful.

Thanks guys for making the server a great place to visit as well as work. I realize I didn't capture all the great sites on the server like the farm, chateau d'if, ultimate cactus, and many others, but don't fret I'll be around to get pictures of everything eventually. Maybe even interviews, who knows.

Server Updated Part 2

Hey everyone, just updated the server. I didn't realize the client wouldn't let you one if the server was out of date for this one. Feel free to run amok and create awesome things!!

Update: The server has been updated again. I'm going to keep using this post for as most of the server beta updates. Also, if you see that there's an update to the server and I haven't done it yet, feel free to comment on this post to remind me. :)

Hello Twitter!!

Twitter Integration

Alright, I have to admit that I may have gone a little overboard with this one, but hear me out.

I build Twitter integration into the server. It isn't much, but I started thinking about how it would be nice to be able to manage the server settings remotely and Twitter immediately popped into my head. So, as these things go, I kinda ran with it for a little bit to see how or even IF I could do it. At the moment it isn't much, but I figured that if you guys/gals liked it and/or wanted more out of it then why not.

Everyone still think I'm crazy? It's alright, I'm starting to think that I might be too.


How it Works


Like I said, it isn't much but basically if you put "#post" anywhere while talking in the game that whole thing along with your character name will get popped up under @PureMinecraft on Twitter. Feel free to follow the account if you like.

Where to Now?


There are so many different ways this could go, but for now I'm aiming small. I'd like to get this set up so that it would be easy to see who is online. Basically if you guys like it (or hate it) and have crazy ideas for other ways that we can make Twitter bend to our will I'm up for suggestions.

Hey guys, welcome to the official blog on the server. I thought we'd put this together so that we can collaborate outside the game. I figure anything goes on here from group building ideas to server settings to what you ate for dinner last night. Anyway, I'm gonna keep this first post super short, but please feel free to drop me a line if you have ideas or whatever.
